When the Coronavirus hit the states in early 2020, the landscape of remote and work from home job opportunities changed across the entire country. Suddenly, the most strict "we-don't-allow-remote-employees" businesses had no choice but to allow for much more flexibility in the workforce than ever.
As we transitioned into 2021, the question on many peoples minds were: are these remote jobs here to stay or are we going to go back to work?
Although many employers energetically put together return to work plans for their remote staff, you can't deny that COVID changed the landscape of what is considered acceptable in terms of remote staff for many employers.
Employers Suddenly Realize That Letting Their Staff Work Remote Just... Isn't That Bad..
For many employers, there was a sort of limiting belief or stigma against letting their staff work from home. They thought that it could decrease productivity, lower team morale and dynamic, that it could cause conflict between other teams, that they didn't have the technology, etc., etc., etc.
However, COVID forced many employers to adapt to allowing the flexibility to employees to work from home and many employers realized that there were a lot of benefits to allowing staff to work from home that they didn't necessarily expect.
Instead.. employers found that allowing for remote work promoted:
Increased productivity
Increased employee satisfaction
Increased talent pools
Allowed employees more work/life balance
More sustainability
and the list goes on and on and on
As we head into 2022, here are five industries ACTIVELY hiring remote as the head into the new year.
1) Banking
Remember when you had to go into a financial institution to open an account? Long gone are those days and now, due to the flexibility with consumer services, many banking and finance roles are remote. Whether you're looking for an entry-level banking role or a more skill level role, the finance and banking industry has a lot of variety of opportunities available.

Next let's talk about Human Resources and Recruitment remote work opportunities. This category is my favorite, for obvious reasons, and has seen a pretty huge increase in flexibility to allow remote workers over the past few years.

5) System Administration
If your in the System Administration career category then you can probably summarize this field much better than I can but I'll give it my good-old-HR attempt at describing this career field. System Administrators are responsible for the set-up, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of network and technology systems.
These types of roles have offered more flexibility in terms of work from home opportunities since prior to the COVID rush of work from home jobs and continue to gain popularity as individuals look for careers with advancement opportunities within lucrative niches.
