5 Remote Jobs PERFECT For Stay At Home Parents

Are you a stay at home mom (or dad) who is looking to add income to your household by working from home? If so, stay tuned because today I am sharing FIVE remote jobs that are PERFECT for stay at home mom's that provide flexibility and work from home options so you can not only make money from home but do so while being able to care for your young ones.

Remote Job #1: Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistants are in high demand right now and are GREAT for stay at home parents because it allows for the freedom and flexibility to set your own hours, select your own customers and to set your own price.


Let's back up....


What is a Virtual Assistant? A virtual assistant is someone who provides administrative support from home for online businesses. Job tasks can vary from responsibilities like:

  • Administrative Support

  • Customer Support

  • Social Media Management (creating graphics, writing social media posts, scheduling posts, etc.)

  • Calendar Management

  • and much, much more

The average pay rate, according to Glassdoor, for a Virtual Assistant in October of 2021 is around $40k (or generally $20/hr) but can vary based on the company you're supporting, job tasks and your own experience.

Remote Job #2: Matchmaker

Have a thing for setting people up? Have you played "unofficial" Matchmaker in the past? If so, being a remote matchmaker may be a great opportunity for you. A Matchmaker works with a company, or as a freelance agent, to help people find partners. You essentially identify the requirements and characteristics that someone is looking for in a partner and then review a database of potential candidates.

Remote Job #3: Recruiter

Recruiting roles are my favorite, for obvious reasons; there is something SO satisfying and rewarding about helping people find work. Recruiting roles, especially part-time or contractor based recruitment roles, can provide a lot of flexibility.


Typically recruitment roles require some type of recruitment experience; however- that does not mean that you don't have relevant experience if you don't have HR or recruitment experience. There are so many transferrable skills in common roles that can apply and help you to set yourself apart as an asset to the recruitment team.


Many times hiring managers are looking for customer service experience, professional or admin experience, ability to work in a fast paced environment and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. If you have that type of experience in your previous (or current) roles, be sure to highlight that as you prepare your resume and application materials.


The national average for a Recruiter, according to Glassdoor, in the United States as of October 5, 2021 is $52k.

WFH Job #4: Data Entry

Data entry is fairly straightforward. But many are willing to pay someone else to tackle this often tedious task. If you are detail-oriented and willing to deal with data, then you can find many opportunities. When evaluating these roles, proceed with caution and do your research as "Data Entry" roles are common job titles for scams. That does not mean that they are scammy but it does mean that you should thoroughly review the job description and employer before applying.

WFH Job #5: Customer Service


As a remote customer service rep, you can expect to earn between $15 to $20 per hour. In order to excel with this job, you’ll need to be able to deal with customers in a friendly way. Not everyone that calls in will be nice to you, but you need to be able to handle their request with ease.


One of the best things about Customer Services jobs is that they are often entry level; meaning that you don't necessarily need establish work history or similar experience in Customer Service Roles. Additionally, many companies hiring Customer Service representatives will provide really thorough training programs to set you up for success.
